The Japanese Roland Company manufactures electronic equipment, electronic musical instruments, and software. Originally founded in 1972, in Osaka, Japan by Ikutaro Kakehash,i with a capital of ¥33 million. Later the headquarters where relocated to Hamamatsu in the beautiful Shizuoka Prefecture. Roland now has nearly 3,000 employees and factories in different locations including Japan, Taiwan, Italy and the United States. Roland is also considered a senior company since it has been in business for 1960 making it one of the oldest and longest running manufacturer s in this business.
The Roland Company creates and distributes products under various brand names, each of which are different products that are geared towards different niches. They offer a wide range of products including digital pianos, synthesizers, guitar synthesizers, electronic drum systems, dance & DJ gear, recording products and amplifiers. A few of the brand names that Roland carries include Edirol, RSS, Boss, Rodgers and Roland DG.
Edirol is a company that carries the line of video presentation and video editing systems and digital audio recorders as well as various DTM (desktop media) products including mixers, computer audio interfaces and speakers. The Roland Company also operates a warehouse which is located in Sydney, Australia that employs only 30 people but earns well over two million per year after paying for expenses and their staff.
