Electro-Harmonix Guitar Pedals

The Electro-Harmonix company which is based out of New York is well known for their high end electronic audio processors. Founded in 1968, by Mike Matthews they soon would increase their popularity with the wide variety of guitar effects pedals that they began creating between the 1970s thru the 1990s. Matthews was a well-established R&B keyboard player and traded his salesman job and IBM job in to pursue his dream.

Partnered with Robert Myer the two played around with their electrical abilities and eventually created the Linear Power Booster which is a pedal that is still popular to this day. From here Matthews got the idea to form his own company to mass produce the Linear Power Booster and other pedal designs. The first product created by the Electro-Harmonix company was the Axis fuzz pedal purchased by the Guild guitar company. Soon they also created other devices such as the Bass Booster and Treble Booster which quickly became popular amongst professional and amateur guitarists.

Today Electro-Harmonix offers a wide range of pedals that are capable of producing many different types of sound manipulation for bass, guitars, keyboard and vocal signals, as well as many other instruments. They also sell vacuum tubes that have been rebranded now being advertised under the company Electro-Harmonix name.

A few of the pedals for single effect created by the Electro-Harmonix company include Phaser, Chrous and Flanger. Other popular pedals include the Small Clone, the Deluxe Electric Mistress, Deluxe Memory Man, Echo, Stereo Memory Man, Holiest Grail, Stereo Pulsar, Wiggler, Micro Synthesizer, HOG, Holy Grail Plus, POG, POG 2, Octave Multiplexer, Doctor Q, Q-Tron and many more.

Aside from the traditional pedals they offer a wide variety of delay pedals and loopers. Their Memory Man effects pedal is popular amongst many musicians due to its fuse by the popular bad U2. He used this pedal for his a few of his hits including “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and “I Will Follow”.
